Live Folders: an interesting innovation in the Android 1.5
Some weeks ago, developers were given access to an early version of Android 1.5 SDK. Interestingly, that appears on the list of new features, many of them are similar to those already represented in the iPhone. However, at least one of the functions totally new - it Live Folders. It is, in fact, represents one of the starting screen and the widget is the ability to quickly access the list of folders on your mobile device, where such content as electronic books, mail, RSS-streams, playlists, and the like, the content can be immediately viewed without the need to separately run the relevant applications. In addition, Live Folders are updated in real time.
Feature Live Folders, potentially, can be accessed from any third-party applications downloaded from the Marketplace, but it is mainly focused on the various information and entertainment content, such as a queue in Netflix, upgrade the status of Facebook, video playlists and the like. Live Folders, is likely to be displayed on the start screen of the device in the form of pictograms. Content folders can be accessed only for viewing, and might trigger the opening of the associated application. Thus, the choice of a contact via Live Folders can open this entry in the phone book.
