Taiwan vendors to launch Snapdragon smartphones at end of 3Q09
Taiwan smartphone makers are expected to release Qualcomm Snapdragon-based handsets at the end of the third quarter or in early fourth quarter of this year although an earleir Digitimes report indicated that HTC (High Tech Computer) may introduce Snapdragon-based smartphones into the market in the second quarter, according to market sources familiar with HTC's roadmap.
HTC is likely to roll out two Snapdragon-based smartphones, with one model coming with a 3.6-inch touch panel and the other with a 4.8-inch touch panel, the sources indicated.
HTC's latest Snapdragon roadmap was revealed amid market reports indicating that Japan-based Toshiba will soon come out with more Snapdragon-based smartphones following the early-February unveiling of its TG01 handset.
