Nvidia showcases Tegra-based smartbook made by Foxconn
Nvidia has showcased a Tegra-based 8.9-inch smartbook designed by Mobinnova and manufactured by Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry). The smartbook has already received orders from telecom service providers in Europe and North America and will appear on the market before the end of 2009.
In addition to the Foxconn smartbook, one made by Compal Communication is also expected to appear in the channel before the end of 2009.
Nvidia pointed out that the Tegra-based smartbooks are able to support high-definition video playback and have a longer battery life.
Compal Electronics, Asustek Computer, Quanta Computer, Wistron and Inventec are also developing Tegra-based products, according to sources from notebook players.
