Sercomm developing LTE-enabled security IP cameras with Verizon
Taiwan-based network equipment maker Sercomm is developing LTE-enabled security IP cameras with US-based Verizon Wireless, according to Sercomm president James Wang.
Sercomm is responsible for incorporating LTE modules into Sercomm's IP cameras, but will not hand production of the LTE modules, Wang said, noting that the cooperation demonstrates Sercomm's ability to design and develop devices supporting 3G or LTE technologies and applications.
Instead of venturing into the production of WiMAX devices or 3G/LTE modules, Sercomm will focus on the development of femtocell modules and other related products for the time being, Wang revealed.
