The Future of Interactive Television Advertising is Running now in Metro San Juan on OneLink
FourthWall Media Delivers Advanced Advertising Powered By EBIF Platform.
PLANO, Texas -- FourthWall Media, the media company driving a creative revolution in interactive TV through advanced advertising, consumer applications and the technology platform on which they run, announced today that the OneLink San Juan cable system in Puerto Rico has successfully deployed the Ad Widgets® advanced advertising system across its digital subscriber base.
Through work done by CableLabs and the Society for Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), the cable industry is revolutionizing television to bring interactivity to a previously passive experience. EBIF, SaFI, and SCTE-130 are industry specifications that allow for national advertising across a myriad of existing hardware and operating systems in use across the country.
Utilizing products from FourthWall Media based on these specifications; OneLink has launched advanced advertising in San Juan. OneLink previously deployed FourthWall's EBIF platform to support a collection of FourthWall's TV Widgets®.
Now OneLink has launched FourthWall Media's Ad Widgets® which allow advertisers to combine interactive functionality with their commercials. When a commercial runs, digital OneLink subscribers will see an on-screen prompt. With the simple push of a button on their standard cable remote, viewers can request more information, find out more about the product or service, hit Click-to-Call for immediate merchant contact, and enable other exciting features.
"Ad Widgets® is a simple to use, end-to-end interactive advertising solution," said Tim Peters, FourthWall Media CEO. "The Ad Widgets® Manager guides media sales personnel through simple forms where they input an order and select options that automatically bind proven applications to the appropriate commercials making them interactive. Once these spots run, the same ad sales people can view usage data through easy web-based reporting. We are thrilled to partner with Ron Dorchester, CEO of OneLink."
FourthWall Media is expanding the set of available Ad Widgets® templates to include Video On Demand (VOD) telescoping, which will allow OneLink to market their own VOD programming in a thirty-second spot. Subscribers can start a movie or show just by clicking on the interactive prompt displayed in the commercial. It also gives advertisers an opportunity to drive their brand engagement with quick navigation to long-form video advertising.
Ad Widgets® also offers advertisers the ability to make their interactive overlays addressable. Interactive features can be targeted to specific groupings of homes and set-top boxes. This better serves both the advertiser and consumer through more relevant commercial messages and engagement.
"We believe interactive advertising offers cable operators two new revenue opportunities," said Ron Dorchester, OneLink CEO. "First, every cable operator promotes their own services to customers using their avails, and interactivity multiplies their effectiveness. Second, giving our advertisers the ability to run interactive thirties enhances their message effectiveness and gives cable a huge advantage over alternative forms of promotion. I thank FourthWall Media and the pioneering OneLink technology and media sales team for this achievement. Together we tackled the necessary 'pipe cleaning' to make these innovations possible in San Juan, and from which other operators will benefit."
