NEW YORK -- PTTOW! announced the results of this year's Youth Media Survey conducted last week during the second annual, invite only gathering of the nation's top marketers including high-level executives from Microsoft, Twitter, Hewlett-Packard, Facebook, Coca-Cola, MySpace, Quiksilver, Nintendo, Motorola, Activision, Pepsi, YouTube, William Morris and Procter & Gamble. Among the key findings of the PTTOW! attendees surveyed were:
* 69% rank the youth market (age 14 to 34) as the most important target in driving overall business goals.
* 65% either agree or strongly agree that location based services (LBS) will become a key element in their social media strategies within the next 12 months.
* 100% utilize social media in connecting with consumers.
* 37% rank music as the most important avenue for connecting with consumers (closely followed fashion/style, social impact and value).
Created by Roman Tsunder, founder and president of Access360 Media, and Terry Hardy, founder and CEO Sonar Entertainment, PTTOW! Youth Media Summit serves as a high level forum to examine current trends and review best practices in marketing to the 1.2 trillion dollar young adult audience.
"Youth are the future. By bringing together the thought leaders across nearly every major industry affecting young people, we are creating valuable partnerships that will continue to catalyze social change in our country," said Roman Tsunder, co-chair of PTTOW! "Furthermore, we have shown that the youth market is the most important demographic, with over $1.2 trillion in annual spending, for brands to drive their overall business, which represents a huge opportunity to not only drive profits but also to do more good in the world."
Tapping the collective wisdom of the participants at this year's PTTOW!, the Youth Media Survey offers an inside look at how smart brands are successfully connecting with the dynamic young adult audience and offers a forward looking assessment of their companies' plans for the future.
