MTS and the Government of the Irkutsk region have brought the first results of cooperation

Operator MTS and the government of Irkutsk region declared at the VII Baikal Economic Forum results of projects implemented in the framework agreement on strategic partnership signed in 2010. Large-scale development program has allowed MTS to increase 3G coverage in the region for the year five times - now in 3G services available in communities where home cumulatively more than 50% of the total population of Irkutsk region. Over the past year, wireless broadband network to the Internet was built more than 50 settlements of the region, and today operates, including in the cities of Irkutsk, Angarsk, Shelekhov, Bratsk, Usolye-Siberian, Sayansk, Winter and others. Until the end of 2011, MTS is planning to build in the area for about 170 new base stations are 3G. At the second stage of modernization of the network, which runs until the end of 2012, MTS will provide an opportunity to use a third-generation networks 85% of the population of Irkutsk region. Another important project under the partnership - the development in 2011 of networks: MTS on the fields of mineral resources, industrial facilities, and also runs along the logistics of the Irkutsk region. In 2011, MTS provided a link NGKM Verkhnechonsk, NGKM Yarakta, Verhnemarkovo, the objects of Irkutsk, Bratsk and Ust-Ilim hydroelectric station, including the interior of the dam. Until the end, MTS will complete the project on construction of mobile communication along the lines of Tulun, Bratsk, Bratsk-Ust-Kut, Bratsk, Ust-Ilim. As a result of this project will be able to use communication services over 800,000 people, of whom about 135,000 live in 106 small towns.
