Motorola Mobility and Claro Announce Availability of Motorola XOOM™ and Motorola ATRIX™ in Brazil

Coming first to Claro´s users, the Lapdock™ accessory for Motorola ATRIX provides an enhanced and more interactive computer-like experience

SÃO PAULO – Motorola Mobility, Inc. and Claro announce the arrival of two highly anticipated products: Motorola XOOM™, the world’s first tablet with the Android™ 3.0 (Honeycomb) platform, and Motorola ATRIX™, the world's most powerful smartphone.

Both devices incorporate unprecedented computing power and performance with innovative designs and software, to provide today’s highly mobile consumers with an unmatched level of connectivity to the information and contacts they need on-the-go and at home.

Motorola ATRIX: The World’s Most Powerful Smartphone

Motorola ATRIX is the world’s most powerful smartphone with a dual-core processor that is the fastest yet offered in a mobile phone. Motorola ATRIX, running on Android 2.2, is designed to essentially become a user’s primary digital hub to create, edit and interact with documents, media and content. This is facilitated by Motorola’s webtop application and incredible new accessories.

• A 1GHz dual-core processor capable of opening Web pages twice as fast as most other smartphones, rendering games faster and displaying HD video on big-screen TVs
• A full 1GB of RAM for twice the RAM of most smartphones to deliver effortless multi-tasking, such as watching a movie while receiving and responding to email
• The world’s first qHD display for a smartphone, offering high resolution and 24-bit color, making it easier to read indoors and outdoors
• Front-facing camera for video calls, as well as a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera that captures video in HD
• Convenient biometric fingerprint reader for easily unlocking your phone while providing extra security
• Up to 48GB of storage (16GB internal and optional 32GB microSD card) – enough to store thousands of songs, photos and movies

Coming first to Claro is Motorola ATRIX’s Lapdock™, which turns your phone into a mobile computing device. The Lapdock features an incredibly thin design, laptop-like form factor, an 11.6-inch (29.46cm) screen, full keyboard, stereo speakers, 36Wh three-cell battery that delivers up to eight hours of battery life, and weighs just 2.4 pounds (1,088g). While Motorola ATRIX is docked in the Lapdock, Motorola’s innovative webtop application allows users to browse the Web with a full Firefox desktop browser while accessing all of their Android applications at the same time. While docked in the Lapdock, you can make and receive calls on your Motorola ATRIX, plus calls continue uninterrupted if the device is removed from the dock.

“Claro is first to offer the revolutionary experience of the Lapdock for Motorola ATRIX,” said Maurizio Angelone, vice president and general manager Mobile Devices Latin America, Motorola Mobility. “The accessory morphs the world’s most powerful smartphone into a computing machine, allowing it to pack the power and capabilities of a PC. We are proud to partner with Claro to share this unique and transformative experience with its customers.”

“The Lapdock for Motorola ATRIX reinforces Claro´s innovative spirit and belief that everybody should be able to access the best that technology has to offer, through accessible plans and the best promotions for smartphones and tablets,” said Erik Fernandes, marketing director, Claro Brazil.
